WHERE FARM-TO-TABLE BEGAN
EAT + DRINK
Berkshire County is where the farm-to-table movement began. North County celebrates that history with farmhouse dining, organic gastropubs, and locally-sourced menus for all seasons.
Public
PUBLIC serves casual, inventive American food with an emphasis on freshness, flavor, and in-house preparation. Public proudly takes advantage of the Berkshire bounty by supporting local farms, artisans, & food producers. They offer an extensive, rotating craft beer program, along with a carefully curated wine list and inventive cocktail offerings.
Prairie Whale
Formerly an antiques store & book shop, its interior is now paneled in reclaimed wood & locally milled cherry. An evolving circle of vegetable & livestock farmers, cheesemakers, and foragers have helped build the Whale's reputation as a legitimate farm to table restaurant. Previous chef Steve Browning cultivated a butchery & charcuterie program that continues to produce coppa, dry aged grass fed steaks, bacon & numerous other products from whole animals.
